For my first post I wanted to introduce the general purpose of this blog: my interests lie primarily in the placing contemporary political literature--ranging from overviews of candidates and partisan analyses, to contemporary economic commentaries and books geared towards international affairs--in their current social and political contexts. That is, through reviewing contemporary political literature within the context of the contemporary sociopolitical sphere, we can effectively analyze the significance of the theories individually and the significance of the theoretical landscape as a whole. Mainly, I want to focus my evaluations on a specific series of questions: is this theory practical/reasonable? Where can this theory find a realistic entry into sociopolitical dynamics? Who will benefit from this proposal? Who will not benefit from this proposal?
So, that's basically where I plan on heading with this blog. I think it will be pretty interesting/engaging, but I want to make it as accessible as possible--after all, these are issues that are pertinent to each and every member of contemporary America. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy my blog.
